Physical Science

Within the Physical Science domain, students are expected to describe how tools
such as mirrors, prisms, and lenses affect light, and how sound is produced and
changed. They are also expected to explain how simple machines are used. They
will have a variety of experiences in getting objects to move or to stop moving,
in changing the direction or speed of objects that are already in motion, and in
exploring how simple machines use motion to make work easier. Students will
understand that forces are the “pushes and pulls” that are responsible for
movement in our world
